My name is Michael Bagley and I'm a 5th grade teacher at the Detroit Service Learning Academy. The passion to become a teacher began before college. It started with my grandmothers encouragement to make a positive impact in life by making a difference. My grandmother was a teacher and later became a couselour. She motivated me to become a teacher. The preparation of my teaching career began at Eastern Michigan University. I'm currently continuing my studies at Concordia University to pursue my Masters in School Administration Educational Leadership. I've been an educator for 6 years and have been here at the Detroit Service Learning Academy for 5 years. This up and coming school year of learning will be full of accomplishments. Students will be challenged academically and expected to be good citizens in and out of the classroom. I enthusiastically encourage parents to be proactive in your involvement with your child's education. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child so if we both do our parts the sky is the limit. Education is the key that opens up the door to the world. |
