Parent Services
The DSLA has built a healthy relationship with our parent community. Through the implementation of The Coffee Shop these informative, educational forums have helped parents develop skills and strategies that promote healthy living, financial management, political awareness, legal aid, family planning and professional development. The workshops are held three times a year and have been platforms by such guests as Gail Perry Mason, Vice President of Oppenheimer Financial Services, and Senator Debbie Stabenow.
National African American Parent Involvement Day is always a feature which is sponsored the second Monday in February.
