This quarter in reading we will be moving from the First Readers into Anthology 1.  We will be focusing on reading comprehension strategies and begin taking weekly reading tests that are a combination of multiple choice and short answer comprehension questions and vocabulary questions.

*Guided Reading (Mrs. Frankowiak’s class)

This month I will continue to work in small reading groups based on your child’s instructional level. Every 2 weeks a running record will be done on each child to see if they have made progress and can be moved up to the next reading level. In addition students will be engaged in activities to help increase their fluency and comprehension. Each week your child is given 5 dolch sight words to practice to help increase their fluency.
