DSLA Board of Education
Maurice Evans has served on the Board of the Detroit Service Learning Academy since 1999, and is the board president. He is the CEO of Evans Insurance Group. He is licensed with the State of Michigan Department of Commerce-Resident Agent Life, Accident and Health-Multiple Lines Property & Casualty License.
Anthony K. Moffett, Sr., is currently employed at DTE Energy, the parent company of Detroit Edison. Mr. Moffett has been an employee at Detroit Edison for 25 years. and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His academic accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and Mechanical/Material Engineering from Michigan State University in East Lansing. Anthony obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Baker College with a major in Leadership Management and a minor in finance. He is currently the board vice president.

James G. Dozier has been a member of the Board of the Detroit Service Learning Academy Board since 2000, and is the board vice president. He holds a Bachelor of Art, from DePauw University, Greencastle, IN. He is a freelance artist and has developed and produced various artwork designs.
Marcus McGrew currently is the Director of Grants Management for the Kresge Foundation. Prior to joining the Kresge Foundation, Mr. McGrew was the Wayne County Community College Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. Mr. McGrew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of South Alabama, and a Master of Business Administration in Management from Michigan State University.
Orlando Woods, a former entrepreneur, is currently Regional V.P. of Sales for Faygo Beverages. He holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Douglas Bartell brings a wealth of community service experience to the DSLA Board of Directors. Mr. Bartell has been a Detroit Police Officer for over 33 years. During his tenure, he has received numerous awards and commendations for his commitment to public safety. Mr. Bartell's endeavors have led to his involvement with several community organizations and programs including A. D.O.P.T.-A- C.O.P.
